2018 LEADER BOARD

 

The Fifth Annual Island Fishing Derby is the first week of July and coincides with the free Family Fishing Week in Ontario.  Registration will take place at the Conservation Centre beginning Friday, June 29 at noon and fishing will begin at 6:00 a.m. on June 30th.  Registration closes at noon June 30th.   The Derby will close at noon on Sunday July 8th.  An awards dinner with presentations will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8th.  Cash awards will be given for the largest fish in each species category.  Mystery prizes will be revealed at the dinner and presentations.

 

A new and even better AWE has returned!  Save the date: Saturday, October 20th.  There will be a new format and new courses.   The  AWE flyer Web 2018 and the Word Registration Form 2018 are now available.  The Early bird deadline is September, 10.  Outdoor Women, you won’t want to miss AWE.

 

The Gun Show and Outdoor Day is nearly here!   Throughout the day, there will be many vendors who will be selling or trading guns, knives and fishing and hunting accessories. There will be outdoor exhibitors with ATV’s, jet skis, docks, boats, motors, etc.  Hourly seminars will explain and demonstrate the development of wildlife food plots, wild turkey calling and numerous other topics (see below for schedule).  There will be an interactive outdoor archery range.  The day also includes official antler scoring, so be sure to bring your deer or moose antlers.  A raffle will give you a chance to win a gun or bow.  The on-site nature trails are open for exploration, and food and drinks will be available all day.  This is a family-oriented event. Admission is by donation.

Hello Members,

Elections are just one month away!

The Board executive positions, President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary are available.  These are one-year terms and any member in good standing is eligible for nomination.  Three Director positions, two-year terms) are also open for election.  Attend the Annual General Meeting on April 12, and be nominated for a position.  New members are welcome.

St. Joseph Hunters and Anglers Association has committed to another busy and enterprising summer.  The success of the many events, both financial and in continuing to grow our community support, is dependent on Club volunteers like you.  Please show your availability to help by filling and printing this form.  SCHEDULE OF SUMMER 2018 EVENTS:  You may submit it at a meeting or send it as an email attachment to info@sjiha.ca

The Ernie Eddy Memorial Children’s Fishing Derby is Saturday, March 3, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  All children of elementary school age or younger are welcome.  Fishing gear is provided, holes will be drilled and snacks and lunch are on site.  There are prizes for the largest fish caught.  The Derby is held at Twin Lakes on St. Joseph Island.
