The SJIHAA initiated a youth outdoors program in 2010. The program is affiliated with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters “Get Outdoors – Youth for Conservation” program. The program is divided into an 8 to 12 year old group and a 13 to 18 year old group (see Calendar for Meeting Times). The program emphasizes conservation and enjoyment of the outdoors. Each age group meets twice monthly from September through June. Meetings include guest speaker presentations on topics related to fish and wildlife, conservation, and the outdoors. Meetings also involve skill development and project work emphasizing fun while learning about a variety of subjects related to the outdoors.
