Tenth Annual Island Fishing Derby
Registration Form
This fishing derby will cover any Ontario waters in contact with St. Joseph Island including waters in contact with the north shore from Bar River to Thessalon and be open to all levels of anglers from kids fishing from a dock to anglers fishing in boats.
The derby will run from 6 am on July 1st to noon on July 9th to coincide with the Ontario Governments free fishing week.
This is a cash tournament with 70% payout.
Fish categories included in the derby will be: bass/pike/perch/pickerel/salmon (including trout) and lake herring (cisco). Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish in each category and will be based on a photograph of the fish, so catch and release will be possible. Additional draw prizes will also be awarded.
We will be providing the tournament rules and a measuring device when you register and outline how the photograph must be taken and submitted. A maximum of 3 photos can be entered for each category per registered angler.
A meal is included with your registration and you must be available at the presentation event on July 9th to receive draw prizes. Cash prizes for the longest fish in each category will be awarded to the winners even if they are not in attendance at the awards ceremony. Prizes will be presented after 4 pm on July 9th at the Hunters and Anglers Conservation Centre, located at 1802, 20th side road, St. Joseph Island.
You must pre-register for this derby and registration and payment by cash or cheque will take place on Friday June 30th from noon till 8pm and on Saturday July 1st from 8 am till noon at the St. Joseph Island Hunters and Anglers Conservation Centre, 1802 20th side road.
ONLINE-Payment and Pre-registration may also be done online by completing the following steps;
Step 1- Print and complete the registration form(s) and email to info@sjiha.ca. (Legible photo or scan of completed form acceptable)
Step 2- Etransfer corresponding fees to info@sjiha.ca. Please indicate in the message box – Fishing Derby and include all the names of the participants for the corresponding fee(s) submitted.
Step 3 – Contacting either John Paterson or Kevin Coombs (Phone numbers noted below) for a derby ruler to be used in all pictures for any fish to be entered in the 2023 derby.

When you sign this registration form you give the organizers the right to use your photos and he/she agree they will not hold the hosts liable for any kind of accident that might occur during the Island Fishing Derby.
