The Kala Project was the brain child of one of our members, Dale Jackson. His vision was to create a children’s only fishing area at Twin Lakes on St. Joseph Island. The project was named after a little girl who lived on the lake and who had passed away suddenly a few years before. Each fall approximately 500 12 to 16 inch splake are released in the lake to offer a fishery for children in the district. Anglers are encouraged to submit creel information after they catch fish in the lake.
